MSC Actran

Is the sound produced by your structure or system important to you? Whether your sound targets are established by your customers or regulatory agencies, MSC Actran can help reach your targets before you build a physical prototype or conduct a physical test.

MSC Actran offers you the most complete acoustics and vibro-acoustics software available today. Based on the finite element method and the infinite element method, MSC Actran provides a rich library of topologies, materials, boundary conditions, solution schemes and solvers.

With MSC Actran, you can address many different types of sound related problems including radiation, scattering, transmission through simple or sandwich partitions, enclosed sound fields, propagation in treated ducts, convected propagation, fluid-structure interaction and accurate modelling of damping.

Features unique to MSC Actran include: propagation of sound waves in a non-uniformly moving fluid, coupling of the FE solution to analytical components (infinite duct), implicit modelling of anechoic and reverberant chambers, acoustic transmission through or acoustic absorption by composite/sandwich structures, excitation of the structure by diffuse sound field or turbulent boundary layer.

What's more, MSC Actran offers a unique solver for quickly calculating the frequency response function of a damped or undamped system over a large frequency range with an arbitrary frequency resolution. This exclusive FRF synthesis technology leads to performance gains of up to 50 compared to standard frequency sweep techniques.
